Job Description
The Scottish Qualifications Authority is Scotland's national awarding and accreditation body. We are trusted to oversee thousands of qualifications that are available in schools, colleges and workplaces, not just in this country, but around the world.
We are looking for a Platform Engineer to work within the Service Delivery team.
The role will specifically focus on ensuring the stability, integrity and efficient operation of our Windows-based systems and servers are maintained.
You will have a collaborative approach on working with stakeholders and the ability to work on multiple projects at any one time. This is a highly technical role and you must be able to demonstrate experience in the following:
System Administration of Microsoft Server Infrastructure
Storage platforms - NetApp
Infrastructure automation / Scripting - preferably SALT Stack PowerShell
Virtualisation - Vmware
Commvault Backup solution
Cloud infrastructure provisioning - Azure
Excellent technical documentation, coaching and knowledge transfer skills
The creation, maintenance and adoption of relevant IT policies, processes and control frameworks
The use of proactive monitoring tools, diagnostic and root cause analysis techniques
Applicants, as a minimum, should be educated to SCQF Level 8 (HND or SVQ4) and/or be able to demonstrate direct relevant experience for this role. Microsoft, NetApp, VMware or Commvault. ITIL foundation accreditation is desirable.
